HOW DO I SCREENSHOT? · For anyone who needs a quick reference on capturing screens for SWII skills

Screenshot Guide

Exact keys for Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and phone — plus when to use full-page vs. region

5-minute reference you'll use every time a wizard says 'screenshot'

SCREENSHOT. EVERYTHING.

Some SWII sources need a full-page capture. Others need just a section. This guide gives you the exact keys for your machine and tells you which to use when.

The Prompt

SCREENSHOT QUICK REFERENCE

## WINDOWS

**Region capture (part of screen):**
Press Win + Shift + S → your screen dims → click and drag to select the area → it's copied to clipboard → paste into your AI (Ctrl+V)

**Full screen:**
Press PrtScn (Print Screen) → paste into your AI (Ctrl+V)

**Full webpage (scrolling):**
In Edge/Chrome: press F12 → click the phone icon (device toolbar) → click the three dots menu → "Capture full size screenshot"
Or install the "GoFullPage" browser extension → one click captures the entire scrollable page

---

## MAC

**Region capture (part of screen):**
Press Cmd + Shift + 4 → crosshair appears → click and drag to select → saved to desktop

**Full screen:**
Press Cmd + Shift + 3 → saved to desktop

**Full webpage (scrolling):**
Press Cmd + Shift + 5 → choose "Capture Selected Portion" then scroll
Or: In Safari → Develop menu → Show Web Inspector → select the <body> element → right-click → "Capture Screenshot"

---

## CHROMEBOOK

**Region capture:**
Press Ctrl + Shift + Show Windows (□||) → click and drag

**Full screen:**
Press Ctrl + Show Windows (□||)

---

## PHONE

**iPhone:** Press Side Button + Volume Up simultaneously
**Android:** Press Power + Volume Down simultaneously

---

## WHEN TO USE WHICH

**Region (part of screen)** — use for:
- A specific table or chart
- A date stamp and header
- One section of a long page

**Full page** — use for:
- The Constitution (you need all of it)
- A daily report (the AI needs the whole picture)
- Any page the wizard says "full page capture"

**The rule:** if the wizard step says "screenshot," region is fine. If it says "full page," use the scrolling capture method.

## STILL STUCK?

Paste this into your AI: "I need to take a screenshot on [my computer]. Can you walk me through it step by step?"

Or photograph your screen with your phone and paste the photo into your AI. Yes, really — it can read it.

## CHAIN CONTRACT

This skill is part of a daisy chain. The human is the courier.

**CONSUMES (input from previous skill or the human):** none (standalone)
**EMITS (output the human carries to the next skill):** screenshots
**NEXT SKILL(S):** none — end of chain

### Output format requirements

1. Your analysis output (skill-specific, above)
2. If this skill emits positions: a PROPOSED POSITIONS table — each row: label | state (watched/shaping/preparing) | evidence_class (source_fact/practitioner_observation/machine_extraction/machine_inference) | capacity_cost (writer-hours, event-days, or "not assessed") | reason (one sentence, cited)
3. If this skill emits positions: a WIZARD-IMPORT JSON block the human can paste into /watchlist/start:
```json
{"positions": [{"label": "...", "state": "watched", "evidence_class": "source_fact", "capacity_cost": "...", "reason": "..."}]}
```
4. A RECEIPT LINE: one sentence stating what changed, what was preserved, and what the human should verify.
5. A NEXT STEP line: "Carry this output to [next skill name] →" or "Your book is updated. Run Boss Sentence for the trip screen."

Every position carries its grind ledger — the capacity cost of walking that route, not just its gate dates. A book sized beyond execution capacity is concentration risk. Flag it.

The 6-Step Flow

  1. Find your section above: Scroll up to find your computer type (Windows, Mac, Chromebook, or Phone) and follow the exact key combinations.
  2. Practice once: Try a region capture right now: select any part of this page. If it worked, you're ready for any SWII wizard.

Published Audit Questions

  2. Can I capture my full screen?
  3. Do I know how to do a scrolling full-page capture of a website?
  4. Do I know the difference between when to use region vs. full-page?

You now have the mechanical skill every SWII wizard assumes. Go run one.
