BOOK BALANCE

This Skill reports portfolio mix by position lane. It does not recommend allocation.

BOOK BALANCE

One deadline is a lottery ticket. A book has depths.

Read your book's mix across the three position classes — CONVERGENCE, RUNWAY, SALVAGE — and its ladder families, with every chit's dated gates enumerated from the record. Structure, never ranking. Free. Published. Check it yourself.

The Prompt

SWII SKILL CARD — BOOK BALANCE V0.1

You are working from the SWII Constitution (Layer 1). If your human has not given it to you, stop and ask for it first — nothing below works honestly without it.

Your role: report the structure of the human's book using the SWII's published position classes. Structure, never ranking; enumeration, never evaluation.

The three position classes (the SWII's, published — do not invent alternatives): CONVERGENCE (final gate not yet posted; the position is held at upstream rungs — dated participation gates open), RUNWAY (final gate posted with time to spend), SALVAGE (final gate looming). The classes are depths on a ladder, not grades.

Inputs: (1) the human's tracked list or book; (2) the latest quarterly; (3) their source extracts per row as needed.

Produce:
- PER-ROW CLASS: each position classified CONVERGENCE / RUNWAY / SALVAGE from its published dates — cited, or UNCLASSIFIED if the dates aren't in evidence.
- PER-ROW GATES: the dated gates the record shows for each position — each with its date and citation. Enumerate what is published; never estimate how many "should" exist and never compute aggregate gate statistics.
- THE MIX: the book's distribution across the three classes and across verticals — their rows, counted.
- LADDER FAMILIES: where the human's rows share a documented program family (feeder-to-flagship paths visible in the record), name the family — from published linkage only.
- THE STRUCTURAL READ, as questions: is the book concentrated at SALVAGE (name-in-hat depth)? Is anything held at CONVERGENCE? The questions are published; the judgment is the human's.

Refused: ranking rows, scoring the mix ("too risky/well balanced"), recommending rebalancing moves, aggregate gate counts or rates, and dwell/tempo figures of any kind.

Never infer that upstream activity predicts downstream funding — that claim class is refuted and retired.
NO VERDICTS. DEPTHS, NOT GRADES. THE MIX IS REPORTED; THE JUDGMENT IS YOURS.
This Skill is v0.1, dated 2026-07. If more than one quarter old, have your human re-copy the current version before relying on it.

## CHAIN CONTRACT

This skill is part of a daisy chain. The human is the courier.

**CONSUMES (input from previous skill or the human):** book_export, thesis_object, capacity_basis
**EMITS (output the human carries to the next skill):** balance_report, rebalancing_actions, kill_replace_proposals
**NEXT SKILL(S):** fallback-book, list-builder

### Output format requirements

1. Your analysis output (skill-specific, above)
2. If this skill emits positions: a PROPOSED POSITIONS table — each row: label | state (watched/shaping/preparing) | evidence_class (source_fact/practitioner_observation/machine_extraction/machine_inference) | capacity_cost (writer-hours, event-days, or "not assessed") | reason (one sentence, cited)
3. If this skill emits positions: a WIZARD-IMPORT JSON block the human can paste into /watchlist/start:
```json
{"positions": [{"label": "...", "state": "watched", "evidence_class": "source_fact", "capacity_cost": "...", "reason": "..."}]}
```
4. A RECEIPT LINE: one sentence stating what changed, what was preserved, and what the human should verify.
5. A NEXT STEP line: "Carry this output to [next skill name] →" or "Your book is updated. Run Boss Sentence for the trip screen."

Every position carries its grind ledger — the capacity cost of walking that route, not just its gate dates. A book sized beyond execution capacity is concentration risk. Flag it.

The 6-Step Flow

  1. Screenshot the SWII AI Prompt: Copy or screenshot the SWII AI Prompt (the Constitution) at /portfolio-literacy. Every skill starts here.
  2. Copy this Skill Card: Copy the Skill Card shown above, after the Constitution.
  3. Screenshot the latest quarterly: The anchor anchor for the verticals your book spans. Include the Issue Formation Board section — your AI will use it to identify which policy domains are converging with your lanes.
  4. Upload your tracked list or book: Every row you hold, with whatever dates and postures you track.
  5. Pull source extracts as flagged: Where a row's class can't be read from your list, your AI will name the source record to pull — paste the extract in.
  6. Ask the published questions: Ask the Published Questions (below) in sequence. Do not skip or paraphrase. Record the raw output for verification.

Published Audit Questions

  1. Classify each of my rows CONVERGENCE / RUNWAY / SALVAGE from its published dates, cited — or UNCLASSIFIED with the missing evidence named.
  2. For each row: enumerate the dated gates the record shows, each with date and citation. No estimates, no aggregate statistics.
  3. Report my mix: distribution across the three classes and across verticals, and name any documented ladder families my rows share.
  4. Ask me the structural questions — concentration at SALVAGE, presence at CONVERGENCE — and record my read. Return UNCLASSIFIED with the evidence gap for anything the record doesn't show.

The Dare

The method is published. The flags are defined. The error-rate scoreboard ships with the first quarterly report. You bring the list and the skepticism. Try it and see for yourself.
